SNOWY MOUNTAIN TOP ELOPEMENT (COURCHEVEL PHOTOGRAPHY)

A SNOWY MOUNTAIN TOP ELOPEMENT, HAILING FROM THE FRENCH ALPS WITH TWO VERY COOL LOVED-UP PEOPLE. AND IT’S CHRISTMAS DAY! I HOPE YOU’RE HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME WITH WHOMEVER YOUR CHOSEN PEOPLE ARE. I WANTED TO PLONK ON MY SANTA HAT AND DELIVER YOU A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS PRESENT. EVEN THOUGH I’M NOT ONE TO BRAG.. I’VE NAILED THIS ONE, AND YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE IT…

I’m writing to you from the very snowy mountains you see in these photos, and life is pretty festive here. I’m having a cosy breakfast with my other half, getting sorted for a quick mountain slide, punctuated with a few celebratory drinks up the mountain. Being up there surrounded by the mountain I call home, feels like a pretty epic way to spend the day.

What do you do? What are your traditions?

Well, apparently, this time of year is a pretty popular time to propose. You’ll start seeing lots of photos of new diamond rings and smiling faces, or maybe you’re nervously waiting to pop the question yourself?

Well, let me offer you the perfect little marriage of festive splendour and dreamy loved-up-ness. Ben & Esme. I mean guys, no exaggeration…

YOU’RE GOING HAVE TO PICK YOUR JAW UP OFF THE FLOOR…

Now here’s my chat about the wedding side of stuff.. If you’re not in the wedding-ness, feel free scroll past and get to the good stuff because trust me, you want to see these shots.

Location location… I call b*llshit. Imho it’s not all about finding an epic landscape and making everything epic in all possible epicness. Let’s all take a chill pill and stop showing off. It’s about ADVENTURE. It’s about enabling your couples to feel like they can take a little time out of the day, or better still, the morning after, and go for an adventure. And btw, epicness and adventure are not mutually exclusive, but for me, the latter comes first.

OH ADVENTURE.

It doesn’t need to mean walking boots and big back packs. It doesn’t need to mean hanging your feet off the edge of a cliff in Yosemite. It can mean sneaking a bottle of champagne out of the venue, and taking a cheeky little walk together on a city backstreet; climbing the roof of the venue to look at the stars (oh calm down, I’m not doing it if it’s dangerous); standing in front of some car headlights in the street outside at the end of the night. It can sometimes just mean setting aside a whole half an hour, later on, and

TALKING TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER ABOUT HOW TO DO SOMETHING OUT OF THE BOX. THEY WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER.

Adventure, for me, is grabbing hands and throwing a cheeky grin at each other that says ‘yeah, f*ck it, let’s do it’. That might be for 20 minutes on the day. It might mean heading out for a session the morning after the wedding.

BUT I AM SO HERE FOR ANYTHING SPONTANEOUS.

Because cheesy as this sounds, isn’t that marriage? Isn’t there this overwhelming and exciting feeling that you’re throwing all doubt and worry out the window, and just opening yourselves up to hope and love and joy? Knowing that it kind of doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect, it’s you two. Against the world. Hands in the air, shouting loud about your love and chucking all your eggs into that one wondrous wedding basket.

‘Oh yeah’ I hear you cynics say. ‘On she bangs about it not needing to be epic, while showing us uninterrupted mountain views as examples?’

You might be right. But for me, it’s not the views that take away the breath, it’s the feeling that these guys are on an ADVENTURE. I mean look at them, you can feel the excitement and joy pouring out of the photos.

If you have me shooting your wedding this coming year, and reading this is giving you all the feels, MESSAGE ME NOW.

WE CAN AND WILL MAKE SUPER FUN AND ADVENTUROUS THINGS HAPPEN.

Right, I’m off to have a little adventurous afternoon with my Hobo. Here’s to great physical and mental health this Christmas, with lots of love and kindness for ourselves and each other. These be the greatest gifts of all.

I LOVE ALL YOUR FACES.. AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

xx
