MISSENDEN ABBEY WEDDING (BUCKINGHAMSHIRE PHOTOGRAPHY)
THESE GUYS WERE NOT ONLY ABSOLUTE DREAMBOATS TO WORK WITH, HANG OUT WITH AND SHOOT, BUT THEY WERE THE MOST DESERVING OF THE LAST OF THE SUMMER SUN. AND I FOR ONE, AM REALLY BLOODY GLAD THEY STOLE IT BEFORE IT SCARPERED FOR AUTUMN. THEIR GORGEOUS CHURCH WEDDING WAS FOLLOWED BY A WICKED RECEPTION AT MISSENDEN ABBEY, AND WE’VE GOT EVERYTHING FROM A CINEMATIC SUNSET, TO A PUNK BAND PARTY. FOR REALS.

Come on guys and gals, grab a cuppa (or large glass of wine- mine’s a bubbles) and sit with me and enjoy some Love. Just LOVE. Plain and bloody simple. I know that in the UK right now, we could do with a gentle reminder of the power love can have. Let’s snuggle up and pour over some lovely photos shall we?
I mean, where do I start?
THEY HAD THE PERFECT BALANCE OF EMOTION AND FUN, NAILED.
And although I can seek out these moments out like a ninja on any given day, I barely had to try on this one. In one direction there would be giggles and loud laughs, and in another there would be long emotional hugs and tears being wiped away above smiles. It was so all so very very true.
Ok, I’ve always loved to share a favourite moment in these posts, and my number 1 was unsurprisingly- sunset. I have a bad/brilliant habit of venturing off to the edges and borders of venue lands, to see if there are any holes in fences/gates/walls, with secret gardens or far reaching fields with uninterrupted views.
I ALMOST NEVER GET CHASED BY A FARMER WITH A GUN, AND ALMOST ALL MY COUPLES ARE TOTALLY UP FOR HOPPING SAID FENCES WITH ME.
And let me tell you… it’s always worth it. I make sure of it. This time the sun was cutting right across the most beautiful fields, with huge old trees throwing stunning shapes in the background. It was quiet, softly lit, and really private. This wasn’t the best bit though.. Once we had finished shooting, and we were heading back to the house, Tom lifted Alice to help her over the fence. No joke, I proper gasped.
THE SUN GLINTED WITH IT’S LAST WINKS THROUGH A GAP IN THE TREES BEHIND THEM, AND SHE LOOKED UP AT HIM AS THEY CHATTED NOT HE WAY BACK.
Thank you guys. Thank you long lens. Thank you life. I didn’t set this up, it just happened. SIGH.
I cannot thank Alice & Tom (and their wonderful friends and family) for welcoming into their day, and trusting me to capture it. I really hope you re-live it wholly through this sneak peak.. you’ve got SO MANY more shots to come.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… If your wedding photographer wants to steal you away for wonderful light, later in the day, go. Forget about worrying about your dress, throw off you shoes if you have to, and just go. Aside from the photos,
YOU WILL BE SO THANKFUL FOR A QUIET 15 MINUTES TOGETHER TO TAKE IT ALL IN. JUST SAYING.
GWx
